Considering the large size of the city, it is understandable why a newcomer moving to Dallas would be intimidated about which area to choose in their Relocation-Search. I have lived throughout various regions in Dallas since 1970 & I have watches the different suburbs change & grow immensely throughout the years, therefore I would consider myself an expert in knowing the qualities of the different hotspots that attract various types of people & cultures who live there.
I would break-it-down like this:
ADDISON-
•Beautifully kept Town, tucked-away within Dallas,
•Centrally located between South Dallas (Downtown/Uptown/Highland Park/University Park) and North Dallas (Carrollton/Plano/Frisco),
•Prime-Location for Professional Singles who enjoy both the restaurants & nightlife and also the quiet scenery& parks. If you’re looking to meet new people, I’d recommend this area 1st.
•Abundance of Recreation, such as Indoor Rock-Climbing & outdoor Dog-Parks! The Town of Addison is very clean & well-kept. Streets are well-lit & the Signs visible glow at night. The streets also have hidden live surveillance cameras which are monitored by the Addison Police 24/7 as a crime-deterrent to ensure an active attempt to keep its Residents safe.
•Is also known as “Restaurant Row” due to the long row of an array of Restaurants.
•All residents of the Town of Addison have the option of paying a $10.00 per year Membership Fee which gives full, unlimited access to the Addison Athletic Health Club, which is often compared to a “Resort”! It has everything a normal Gym has, plus extra’s such as Indoor/Outdoor Pools, Dry/Wet Saunas, Outdoor White-Sand Volleyball, Tennis, Childcare, etc.. No other nearby City offers anything like this. A must-see-to-believe!
•The entire Town of Addison is WIFI
•Property values have stayed steadier in Addison than in all other areas of Dallas, so if u plan to sell in the near future, I'd predict that Addison has the least risk of value-loss in comparison to other Dallas Regions.
•Very nice area yet still very affordable price ranges can be found here, but the properties usually don’t stay in the market for long, so it may take some time to find one.

MOCKINGBIRD STATION (Lower Greenville)-
•Young Professionals blended with Non-Professionals; a Melting-Pot
•Nice Parks, especially KATY TRAIL which is a nature trail for outdoor walkers, runners, bikers, rollerblading, etc.
•Lots of Bars & Clubs, Nice Houses are blended-in with run-down Houses
•Tons of Singles, & College Students, Laid-back; Increased Risk of Crime
•Housing: Residents commonly Complain that its Very Loud

UPTOWN-
•Young professionals
•Nice Parks, especially KATY TRAIL which is a nature trail for outdoor walkers, runners, bikers, rollerblading, etc.
•Huge Nightlife, Trendy Clubs, Dress-to-Impress
•Tons of Urban Singles, Less laid-back than the Residents of Addison
•Housing: Get-Less, Pay-More

VICTORY PARK (Downtown)-
•Young professionals
•Nice Parks, especially Lit-up Victory Park compares to smaller version of Time-Square in NYC.
•Huge Nightlife, Trendy Clubs, Dress-to-Impress
•Tons of Urban Singles, Less laid-back than the Residents of Addison
•Housing: Get-Less, Pay-Even-More than Uptown!
