Really depends on what you consider the "country". I live about 30 minutes from Dallas in Denton and it very country in my nieghborhood. I live on about 5 acres of land and have both cattle and horses. I love having a ranch style house only 30 minutes from the big D.

There are many communities with that country feel, try Prosper, Celina, Aubrey to the north. Some areas of Mckinney and to the east of Mckinney try Fairview and Lucas.
