About Allen

Just north of Richardson and the suburbs of Plano, the Allen community offers a quiet, comfortable, and affordable place to raise a family. Commute

Residents of Allen should attempt to avoid the downtown commute whenever possible. A good 25 miles from the heart of Dallas, the daily drive time from Allen to Dallas could easily take over an hour depending on road conditions. Leaving before the morning and afternoon rush will certainly help, but Dallas traffic can get really nasty.

Schools

School District: Allen Independent School District

Schools: The entire community falls under the Allen Independent School District (AISD) which has 13 elementary school, 3 junior high schools, and 1 High School. All teenagers in the area will attend Allen High School. As a true suburb of Dallas, the school system is excellent, but should a family choose to send their kids to private school, they have several options including: Allen Private Schools:
