Located East of Addison and north of the unique homes in University Park, Richardson was voted the 15th best place to live Money magazine in 2006 due to its high quality of life, affordable housing, and exemplary public schools. Only 13 miles north of the downtown Dallas highrises, Richardson has seen steady growth over the past few years as more people have found it to be a great place to raise a family. The area is also quite affordable with an average house price of $163,000 and average rent of around $900. Like many great Dallas neighborhoods and suburbs, Richardson puts on all sorts of events to bring the community together including a yearly music festival called Wildflower which attracts more than 50,000 attendees. Richardson is a great area for families and young professionals interested in staying relatively close to the heart of Dallas, yet still wanting a larger home with a more suburban feel.
