Just a few blocks east of Downtown and close to the lower Greenville area, Deep Ellum is the arts and entertainment headquarters for the entire city. With a myriad of live music venues, art galleries, opera houses, and famous venues like Club Dada, the Deep Ellum neighborhood has everything necessary for a memorable night out on the town. Described as a trendy SoHo in the heart of Texas, the area has quickly become a hotspot amongst young urban professionals looking for an avant garde social scene. The area has given rise to numerous successful artists, singers, and bands like The Meat Puppets. In addition to the usual arts, Deep Ellum has become a hotspot for graffiti art, and large murals can be found throughout the community. Although there are some houses in the area, most Deep Ellum real estate comes in the form of urban lofts, high rises, condos, and townhomes.
