One of the most desirable neighborhoods in all of Texas, University Park (UP) is known for having some of the most beautiful Dallas homes. Simply put, UP is the perfect suburb. It?s located a few miles from the beautiful homes of Highland Park (also part of the "Park Cities") in a spectacular school district, surrounded by more than 30 lakes, and has the lowest crime rate in the entire city. The real estate in University Park tends use Spanish architecture and be extremely luxurious. The neighborhood is also home to Southern Methodist University, and as a result, many of the professors and research staff live in the area. The neighborhood is also teeming with restaurants, art galleries, and shopping centers like NorthPark Center, Snider Plaza, and Highland Park Village . Of course living in this utopian society is not cheap, and as any local Dallas agent can tell you, many homes are worth well over a million dollars. But if you can afford it, University Park and its neighbor Highland Park have all the amenities you could possibly want.

Commute

Many of the people living in University Park are associated with Southern Methodist University, and as a result, their daily commute can be measured in footsteps rather than miles. For those residents making the commute from University Park to downtown Dallas, the distance is around 5 miles shouldn?t take more than 10 minutes. UP?s central location ensures that its residents are never far from the action. If you are planning to reverse commute to a North Dallas suburb like Plano, you should expect to spend about 20 minutes in your car.

School District: Highland Park Independent School District

Schools: University Park is within the highly coveted Highland Park Independent School District which has consistently been ranked amongst the top public schools in the state. Students will attend either Hyer Elementary or University Park elementary, then Highland Park Intermediate School, and finally Highland Park High School. Should a parent chose to send their kids to private school, there are several to choose from: University Park Private Schools:
